For over a year, the world has been combating the coronavirus. It has taken hundreds of lives and continues to do so. But one day in the future, it will lose its eminence and diminish. Since the beginning of time, we have been living in the midst of a disease that has led to uncountable deaths. Even today, people refuse to rid their spiritual bodies of it. This disease, named sin, will never go away. Everyone will come in contact with it at some point in their lives.
If all people had to do to be saved is take one measly vaccine or cure, then why would anyone ever refuse?
For one, there are a few side effects guaranteed with this cure. Since it is not favored in the sight of the world, anyone who takes it will have tribulations and trials in their life (John 15:19, 2 Timothy 3:12).
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. (Romans 12:2)
In order to be free from sin, we must also separate ourselves from worldly pleasures. It is a side effect of the cure, but it is worth it. By doing this, we can give our lives to God and save our spiritual life.
If we are okay with the side effects, we must learn how to administer the cure to our soul. God has provided approved manuals in numerous languages all over the world (2 Timothy 3:16-17). All that is left to do now is for one to accept the entirety of the cure (Revelation 22:18-19). Many, without hearing/reading the instructions all the way through, have preached of a worldly cure that they say is true; but, it won’t work unless it is the prescribed cure (1 Corinthians 15:1-4). Once we have read and understood the Bible and its contents, we must believe that it will save us for eternity (Mark 16:16).
Jesus said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. (Matthew 22:37)
Once we believe what He says is true, we must act on our faith (James 2:26). To let the cure be able to heal our spiritual bodies from sin, we must acknowledge our wrongdoings and repent (Acts 2:37-38). Then, we must physically take the cure. We will be asked by a fellow Christian before we become a Christian to confess our faith in Jesus (Romans 10:10, Matthew 16:16). Following our confirmed conviction to Christ, we will be submerged in water for the remission of sins through baptism (Romans 6:3-4, Acts 22:16). And even though we are saved, we must continue to live faithfully. The cure gets rid of the disease, but we can’t allow the disease to take back over our bodies.
These are the instructions to be saved from sin. So, why are you waiting? Show others the cure. As Christians, we are supposed to share the gift of life given by Jesus through his sacrifice on the cross. His blood, the blood of a sinless man, is the only cure. He wants all to be saved (2 Peter 3:9) and therefore tells us to preach the word (2 Timothy 4:1-2).
